Court Policy & Fees
POLICY: A retainer fee and/or "on call" fee for court are to be paid in advance, just as you would pay your attorney representation. My time for preparation in your court case is a separate fee and is discussed below. Your attorney must personally notify me of any upcoming court dates. Please know that any testimony by me regarding my practice and/or your case is considered expert testimony. If you are considering to subpoena me to court on your behalf, you should know that means you are waiving your right to privacy privileges. I do recommend we discuss the matter prior to your decision to waive your privacy privileges.
RETAINER FEE: Because I cannot book client appointments on court days, a retainer fee of $560 is necessary and must be paid in advance. The retainer fee is not optional and is not refundable. In addition, the retainer fee is not transferable in the event your case is dismissed or continued less that 48 hours before the scheduled court time. The fee covers two hours of my time in court. In addition to a retainer fee, my preparation (ie., discussions with your attorney, reports, case review, other prep/etc.) for your case is billable at $140/hr and the preparation fee should be paid on the date of court.ON-CALL FEE: If I am placed “on call” for court , I cannot schedule appointments for that day and my fee for being “on call” is $560. It is not refundable and it is not transferable to another day. Be advised that if I am placed “on call,” the $560 on-call fee will cover up to two hours in court, but you will be billed at $140 per hour for the amount of time beyond the two hours in court. My fee for preparation in your case, as described above, applies.
